The fact that Uhrlau is the current negotiator between Hezbollah and Israel isn't public knowledge. However, it is widely known that he led the previous negotiation effort, and it has been reported that the current (secret) negotiator is known as M. Hezbollah. Add to that that the german government absolutely needs a seasoned negotiator as it is involved in the very sensistive task of securing the lebanese coast, and you have a strong case.
