I have taken the liberty of cleaning up this article, which was evidently not written by a native speaker of English. The long quotation from Hilary Putnam is a jewel, but I suggest that it would be more appropriate to include it in Charles Peirce. According to Grattan-Guiness, Schroeder has been the subject of some recent biographical research in German. The entry should also cite Schroeder's short book of 1877, which did much to introduce the Continent to Boole. -- Philip Meguire, amateur logician residing in New Zealand, and a Schroeder fan via Peirce.
