[edit] GA review

Good again, and basically there.

  • new ball attack of Ray Lindwall and Keith Miller — given this is the lead would "opening bowling partnership" or some variation therein help the non-cricketers out there what this means (as this is the lead, so it's important like that).
  • 1945&ndash46 — fix.
  • In 1945&ndash46, the first season of cricket after the end of the War, Toshack made his first-class debut, and after only seven matches in the Sheffield Shield, he was selected for Australia's tour of New Zealand, where he opened the bowling in a match that was retrospectively given Test status — That could easily become two sentences.
  • Is it worth splitting the second paragraph of the lead in two, maybe in the middle of the sentence noted directly above (pre-international and international)?
  • He attempted a comeback during Australia's 1949–50 season, but further injury forced him to retire — is that "retire again"?
  • No, I reworded it since he didn't actually retire in the first place.Blnguyen (bananabucket) 01:43, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
  • The lead says he was born in Lyndhurst but early life says Cobar.
  • A bunch of references that go [6][2] - looks odd, should be two then six.
  • Is there any information about post-career?
  • "His accuracy and stamina allowed Lindwall and Miller, one of Australia’s finest fast bowling pairs of all time, to draw breath between short and incisive bursts of pace and swing" — this needs a reference or two, especially for the "finest" part. Also, probably better to use the whole names and link for L&M, as they hadn't been used in this section for a while.
  • "imitating an Englishman" — this seems more a parody (doing it to take the piss out of them) than an imitation.
  • Any chance of images? You should be able to find some PD ones, given his era. Would just make the article look a little better, although (as always) not absolutely required to pass.

Drop me a message when you've done any of these you feel are relevant and I'll have a second look. The GA is on hold for now. Cheers, Daniel 01:21, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

I did the rest I think, Blnguyen (bananabucket) 01:43, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Yup, fair call about the post-career and thanks for clarifying about the retirement. Passed GA, kudos/congrats. Daniel 01:53, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
