Ernst Zielger (16 April 1894 - 11 April 1974) was a German actor who was active on screen during the 1960s and early 1970s.
Ziegler's final on-screen role was as Grandpa George (Charlie Bucket's grandfather) in the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. By this stage, Ziegler's health was deteriorating, and he was already legally blind. He finally died in April 1974, five days before what would have been his 80th birthday, as a result of emphysema.
