Ernest Viggo Almquist

Ernest Viggo Almquist (1894-1962), born in Plum City, Wisconsin, was a commercial artist for nearly 40 years, beginning his career in Minneapolis. He hand-painted billboard signs throughout Minnesota and North Dakota. He also did gold leaf lettering and screen-printing. He was a skilled glass-blower and created many neon signs in the 1940s and 1950s. He designed the seal for the city of Dickinson, North Dakota, used during their 75th anniversary celebration.
