Ermenilda of Ely
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Saint Ermenilda (or Eormenhild, Ermenildis, Ermengild) (d.700 or 703) was the daughter of king Eorcenberht of Kent and saint Seaxburh of Ely. She married Wulfhere of Mercia, with whom she had a daughter, saint Werburgh, and a son, Cenred.
Ermenilda became a Benedictine nun after her husband died in 675, and eventually became abbess of Minster and Ely consecutively.
Her feast day is 13 February.
