I have to say, that's exceptional work for a newcomer. Well done. DS 19:12, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
helpme Dragonfly SixtySeven has been a great help and I went to the tutorial(s) mentioned - however, and I apologize in advance but I don't understand how to add pictures to an article. I regret that I am not up to speed but any step-by-step help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for ANY help in this matter. Ericdohio 01:06, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Images in Articles
Ericdohio: To add an image to an article, just use syntax like this: . For example, if you wanted to add an image called MyCoolImage.jpg to an article, you would just add .
If you need any more help, just put the helpme template back on your page. Thanks! --Cmelbye 01:44, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks so much for the info on the pictures - it worked!!!!! I must ask however, the image is HUGE on the page - is there a way to thumbnail it? Please advise and thanks again!!!!! Ericdohio 02:38, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Ericdohio: To make an image thumbnail, use this: The parts of it are pretty self explanatory, but just in case, it is Name of Image, then alignment, then you say you want to thumbnail it, then you put the Caption. --Cmelbye 02:43, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Dear Cmelbye - I can't thank you enough for all your help, I really appreciate it - very much - THANKS!!!!! Ericdohio 03:26, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your message
Firstly, if you have a message for another user, it's a good idea to post it on his/her talk page; these are typically accessible by clicking on their signature.
You said, in your e-mail to me:
"DS - Thank you so much for the kind words - I hope I have done a service to Wiki by TRYING to write a proper article. But believe me - IT HASN'T BEEN EASY! I am not the worlds biggest computer-guru and navigating thru Wiki has been tough ;-( If you don't mind helping me I had a question for you. I have several images I would like to upload to my article - scans I made of some collected money and a picture from the war showing the money. Any step by step on how to do that.
OOPS - ALSO!!!! How do I hyperlink my endnotes to my footnotes? Does that make sense? You know the notes within the text? I want to hyperlink those to the end of the article.
WAIT! One more thing...how do I hyperlink ALL the people, places and things already in my article, i.e "Treaty of San Francisco" to other pages in Wiki?
DS - I appreciate in advance ALL of your help in these matters."
To address your various points:
yes, you've definitely done a service to Wikipedia with your article. You did quite well for a beginner.
As for how to do hyperlinks from your article to pre-existing articles, and how to make your footnotes link to your endnotes - I suggest you read How to Edit a Page and the tutorial.
As for the images you wish to upload - documents produced by the Japanese occupational government are public domain, as they were made >50 years ago. Include the copyright tag PD-Japan. DS 01:38, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:JIM 500 Pesos.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:JIM 500 Pesos.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:07, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Don't worry - I've given the images the proper copyright tags for you. DS 19:12, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your Welcome
Ericdohio, you're welcome! Just as a heads up for next time, make sure you put messages to users on their Talk page and not their User page. Thanks! --Cmelbye 11:35, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
