Talk:Erin Brown
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is only a minor point, and I'm not sure it merits a subtitle. Where Robert Kurtzman is mentioned, as a director, two films are mentioned in parenthesis next to his name: Wishmaster and From Dusk till Dawn. It seems that the article is implying that he directed both, but he only directed Wishmaster. He did work in From Dusk till Dawn, he wrote, produced and did special effects, so I'm not saying the reference should be erased, just clarified. I would have edited the article myself, but I couldn't think of an elegant way to do it. I don't mean to be a nitpicker, but I was myself mislead, more so by the fact that the director, Robert Rodriguez, shares his first name. Apwith 10:58, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Weasel Words and Merge
This article needs to be merged with Misty Mundae as the two articles refer to the same person, and the content is nearly identical. Also this article contains weasel words, especially in the text talking about her change in movie genre. Autopilots 05:23, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
The Misty Mundae article has been merged to this one. As far as weasel words go the talk about her change in movie genre comes from a variety of interviews she did, the fact that she has only done horror and not softcore since 2003, as well as commentary by the directors and producers of her films which can only be found on the DVDs. Should there be a source placed for for every little detail? Please help me out here because absolutely everything in the article is verifiable. 05:52, 6 September 2006 (UTC)65.185.24.40
- Thank you for the merger, your contribution is much appreciated, and I've left a welcome message on your anonymous user page. As far as my claim on Weasel words, perhaps this is incorrect, but I feel that it does either violate that or no original research. I myself am a fan of this actress's films, so I feel I can not edit this article myself, but I do feel that overall, the article fails either NOR, WW, and/or NPOV, each of which is a semi-murky overlap. Most important to me, at least, was the article merge, which, again, I thank you for doing.Autopilots 09:23, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Erroneous death notice
It had been reported erroneously that actress Erin Brown had died by committing suicide on October 1, 2006. That was a misunderstanding due to a press release that stated "Misty Mundae" had died. The release should have simply stated that Erin Brown had retired from using the name of "Misty Mundae." Instead, it had appeared as though the actress herself had died. ei Independent Cinema owns the name "Misty Mundae," and apparently still intends to produce more films featuring that name. Whether that includes Erin Brown at any later date remains to be seen. As it is, Erin Brown is still alive and well and working as an actress. 04:10, 3 October 2006 Philkaos
[edit] Categorization as "bisexual actress"
Given some uncertainty about the precise definition of this category, I must raise a question as to whether Erin Brown/Misty Mundae truly qualifies. I am fairly sure that the available verifiable information can prove that she has performed sex acts with both sexes on film, but that she has to date admitted to at least one heterosexual relationship and no lesbian/homosexual activity off-film. So -- can we categorize her as bisexual solely on the basis of her on-screen activities, or do we need a quote about an off-screen lesbian encounter to confirm her "bisexual" status?
The answer to this question will affect work on articles about some of her co-stars, most of whom have performed only lesbian sex acts on-camera and whose private sex lives are not verifiable by wikipedia standards -- and the unverifiable knowledge I have of one of them would only serve to force me to exclude her from being classified as strictly lesbian in her personal life, in case somebody decides to add her to such a list.
- Here's a reference, it's an interview in which she claims to be bi: [1]
== Removing the shaved head/retirement reference until someone produces a verifiable citation. This appears to be a rumor started due to a flamewar between fans of Tiffany Shepis and those of the subject. Erin Brown currently has a film in post production and just appeared at a horror convention 10 days ago. This doesn't sound like she's retired.
There's nothing on google about her retirement. The only image hit is for a different Erin Brown. Horrorshowj 04:34, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
