[edit] To delete, or not to delete...

The article I think was quite rightly tagged as a candidate for speedy deletion because it was not only orphaned, but no significance to this individual was provided.

This gentleman was the namesake of the USS Andres (DE-45), which I have now specified not only in this article but in the ship's article as well.

I'm fully aware that this article is still pretty short on detail, but I feel like being the namesake for a commissioned US Navy ship certainly provides the necessary significance and notability for this article to remain on Wikipedia.

I'm certainly glad to discuss this further. I'm positive there are several other similar biographical vignettes found in the DANFS, so I think it would be valuable to consider the deletion or retention of this article within the larger context of its related articles.

Honestly, I'm not too riled up about this article, but it's perfectly worthwhile, seemingly accurate information that seems a shame to toss in the trash as long as it serves some purpose.
