Erik Thompson (b. La Jolla, California, July 22, 1959) is an American voice actor and television announcer.

Erik began his career in 1978 as a disc jockey at a small AM radio station in Vista, California and later became a radio personality in the San Diego and Los Angeles radio markets in the 1980’s and ‘90’s, most notably at 91X and KGB-FM San Diego and XETRA-AM Los Angeles. He has also been involved in radio and television production as a freelance producer , and rarely, as an on-camera actor.

Since the late 1990's Erik has been a full time voiceover actor and a promo announcer for television networks. He is currently the voice of The National Geographic Channel (Nat Geo), and voices promos for HBO, CBS, NBC, TNT, TBS, Cinemax, Showtime, Sundance Channel and Tru TV .

Erik also provides narration for TV series such as The Universe on The History Channel, World's Most Amazing Videos (2008) on Spike TV, Animal Extractors [1] on Animal Planet and Shootout! on The History Channel. He is the image voice of Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 14, "Classic Vinyl".

Erik works mostly from a studio in his home in Leucadia, California, using an ISDN link.
