Erick Scott Bernard (born May 21, 1981 in San José, Costa Rica) is a Costa Rican soccer player, who currently plays for Shanghai Shenhua in China .

Scott joined the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer on loan in March 2004, after several exceptional years with LD Alajuelense, with whom he had played since May 2001. Scott scored 13 goals in the 2001-2 season, and another 20 in the 2002-3 season, propelling LD Alajuelense to two straight league titles. Scott also scored several goals against MLS and Mexican league teams in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, and was a key player during his first episode with LD Alajuelense.

After joining the Crew, however, Scott has seen minimal playing time, and seems unlikely to return for 2005. He was picked up by Real Salt Lake with the last pick of the 2004 MLS Expansion Draft, but was not brought into the squad, he decided to stay in Costa Rica and returning to LD Alajuelense.

Scott found himself a different team and a different manager so his performance was not even close the one he had before he left the squad less than a year ago. He didn't get a lot of minutes during what was left of the Clausura's Tournament. Everybody spected him to start the Apertura's tournament in the starting line-up but due some differences with fans and some members of the managerial team, he was transferred to CD Marathón in order for him to get more minutes.

He got the shape he wanted and started playing well for CD Marathón, scoring goals and givin some assistances he got the attention from the chinesse league, so he move to Shanghai Shenhua along with Honduran player Emil Martinez. They were both teammates at LD Alajuelense and at CD Marathón and were bought togheter by Shanghai Shenhua.

Scott has also been a promising player for the Costa Rica national team at numerous levels. At young levels he appeared in the 2001 World Youth Championship held in Argentine and in the 2004 Summer Olympics. For the major team he played the 2003 Gold Cup held in USA and some other qualifying games to 2006 FIFA World Cup held in Germany.
