Eric Meyer is the long time lead guitarist for the Los Angeles based thrash metal band Dark Angel. He joined the band in 1984 and played on all of their recorded albums. Meyer was the only constant member of the band throughout its recording career. Following Dark Angel's disintegration in 1992 Meyer formed a new band called Hunger with former DA vocalist Ron Rinehart. Following the second breakup of Dark Angel in 2002 he formed a new band called Swine, which was more groove metal oriented than Dark Angel. They now appear to be inactive.

Meyer holds a degree in studio engineering and following the breakup of Dark Angel he became a producer full time, producing albums by many bands including Transmetal. He apparently works as a music engineer full time now. Meyer was involved in the production of Dark Angels albums as well. He apparently did a lot of engineering on albums such as Darkness Descends and Leave Scars which he was not credited for.

He was endorsed by Jackson Guitars and used the Jackson King V model (with a reverse headstock). Meyer was asked to join Megadeth in 1986 following the departure of Chris Poland but declined in order to stay in Dark Angel.
