Eric Maynor an American basketball point guard for the Virginia Commonwealth University Rams basketball team. He is a junior, and averaged 13.6 points, and 6.4 assists a game in the 2006-2007 season. His hometown is Fayetteville, North Carolina, and he attended to Westover High School.

On March 15, 2007, Maynor scored 22 points, including the game winning shot, in VCU's victory over Duke in the first round of the 2007 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. This shot, popularized by the CBS call, has been known as the Duke Dagger. Maynor's last minute heroics are also what helped VCU to overcome George Mason in the 2007 CAA championship game.
Over the 2007 summer, Maynor was also selected to represent the United States in the Pan American Games.
Maynor was also named one of the top 50 preseason candidates for the Men’s 2007-08 John R. Wooden Award, the nation’s most prestigious college basketball honor.

Maynor helped VCU win the CAA regular season title, falling in the semi-finals of the conference tounament. He was selected as the CAA Player of the Year and selected to the All-CAA first team.[1] The Rams failed to reach the NCAA Tournament and went on to play in the NIT, where they lost in the first round.
