Eric Leckner

Eric Charles Leckner (born May 27, 1966, in Inglewood, California) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Utah Jazz in the 1st round (17th overall) of the 1988 NBA Draft.
Leckner played in 8 NBA seasons for the Jazz, Sacramento Kings, Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons and Vancouver Grizzlies. His best year as a pro was during the 1993-94 season when he appeared in 71 games and averaged 5.1 ppg for the 76ers. He played collegiately at the University of Wyoming, where he was selected to the school's All-Century team in 2005.

He was an important player for the University of Wyoming and was part of their NIT 1986 runner-up team, 1987 Sweet 16 team, and 1988 Western Athletic Conference Champions team. In the 1988 WAC championship game, Leckner would hit a buzzer beating shot to give Wyoming the win versus Colorado State University on a play that was similar to the one that Christian Laetner is famous from making in Duke's NCAA tournament game versus Kentucky.
