Eric Ilett is a designer best known for creating elaborate animated caption cards for use in British television programmes such as Ask the Family. (Such captions were sometimes known as Wurmsers, after Alfred Wurmser, who did very similar live animated captions in the 1950s.) He is a former Gloster Aircraft Company employee.
He also worked on The Sky at Night hosted by Sir Patrick Moore.
He is a renowned railway photographer and writer of books on modelling railway buildings.
