Eric Hoffman (guitarist)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Eric Hoffman is an American death metal guitarist best known for being the one of the two lead guitarists who formed AMON/DEICIDE in the Florida based Satanic death metal band.
Eric and his brother, Brian Hoffman, shared lead guitar duties during their time in Deicide. Together, they gained a reputation for playing complex, elaborate solos backed by overlapping riffs, making Deicide one of the most distinct bands in the death metal genre. Both Eric and Brian left the band late in 2004, following a bitter falling out with Deicide bassist/lead singer Glen Benton over royalties and publishing issues.[1] He apparently looks up to Andres Segovia as a guitar player[2]
At the Canadian-U.S. border in October 2003 Hoffman and a Deicide crew member were arrested when customs agents found they were in possession of drugs and weapons.[3]
In April 2005 Eric and his brother announced they were putting a "new DEICIDE together."[4]
