[edit] Controversy
In April 2007, while producing Sports Talk San Antonio for the Ticket 760, Gray created a skit in which a fake Allen Iverson answered questions. The skit featured the fake Iverson referencing drug use, soliciting sex from "Mexican" women, and accidentally shooting a vagrant who turns out to be an "illegal alien." In the wake of the segment, the San Antonio Spurs forbade any involment of the show hosts with the Spurs, including cancelling coach Gregg Popovich's weekly call-in show. Gray was terminated from his position shortly thereafter, while the hosts appear to have received no disciplinary action.[1][2] For his part, Gray contends that every account of the segment was a second- or third-hand retelling of a bit that was actually funny, but was sensationalized into something it was not.
[edit] Career
Gray's radio career began in college where he did play-by-play for the Lewisville Fighting Farmers football team and started a sports talk show called The Green Guys. After graduation, his first job was as an afternoon producer at the now defunct KFCD 990 AM. When they went under in late 2005, Gray joined the Ticket 760 in San Antonio, home of future fellow GameShow coworkers Nate Lundy, Rob & Jason Thompson, and Paul Ihander. There he was the producer of the Sports Talk San Antonio show and fill-in host on the Spurs' pre- and post-game shows, Spurs GameTime Warmup and Spurs GameTime React. After his termination there, he joined on at EA Sports GameShow, a radio/trivia game based in EA Tiburon's Orlando studios.
[edit] EA Sports GameShow
As a producer with EA Sports GameShow, Gray is often heard during the live trivia sessions, where he goes by the moniker E. He is known to rip his shirt off when his beloved Dallas Cowboys or most anything Texas-related is mentioned in the game. Gray's other contributions to the game include the Office Minute, which he edits together after each new Office episode; the screeching halt, where something he or the host says brings the show to a screeching halt; and the guest door, where various trivia subjects drop in to say hello. Favourite guest door guests include Tiger Woods, Cecil Turtle, Shaq, Avery Johnson, and Uga, the Georgia Bulldog. Recently,Gray introduced the hottest avatar contest, a contest in which he declared himself the winner.
