[edit] Privacy
I've removed the personal information previously on this talk page as per WP:PRIVACY. Getting information by phone is not a valid source anyway. – Tivedshambo (talk) 09:09, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] High Street stores
Do we really need a list of every store in the High Street? Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. ANyway, there are other shopping streets in Erdington than just the High Street. – Tivedshambo (talk) 09:09, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'll take no response to mean no objections, so I've removed the list in line with WP:NOT#INDISCRIMINATE. – Tivedshambo (talk) 21:38, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] highcroft
this is a substantial development in Erdington, being previously a poor law hopsital. should really look to giving it a subsection —Preceding unsigned comment added by UKbandit (talk • contribs) 13:49, 8 June 2007
- Whilst I agree that it is a large development (by suburban standards), I don't think it is of sufficient size for it to warrant its own subsection. A paragraph on the development could do. If there is more information and sources on the history of the hospice itself, then maybe it could be developed into a separate article. - Erebus555 15:23, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

- theres this andthis. apparently the main building, now apartments, was the "new Union Workhouse was erected 1866-69 from designs by Yeoville Thomason, architect famous for designing Birmingham Council House, the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and The Jaffray Hospital. - The information there can be turned into an article in itself. It is quite a bit. There are bound to be a lot more sources available out there too. - Erebus555 16:45, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

- when i say subsection, i mean having it in the equals to be a header in the overall erdington wiki entry. i agree it does not warrant a daughter article (if thats what you mean)UKbandit 16:17, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

- I know understood you meant. I feel that sebsections about buildings are not worth it and should be moved to their own articles. It gives them room to expand if another source is found. - Erebus555 16:43, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] gravelly hill
i was told be a local resident (my neighbour) that it used to qurried for gravel, theres plenty, i know i live there! anyoneknow any sources? —Preceding unsigned comment added by UKbandit (talk • contribs) 13:49, 8 June 2007
- I have a lengthy book on the history of Erdington, and nowhere does it mention that it was quarried for gravel. It says no industry was performed on the hill until Erdington expanded. This means something may have happened after Erdington expanded as Gravelly Hill was originally just a gravelly hill with a vast network of rabbit warrens. I'll look into it anyhow. - Erebus555 15:23, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
- ok ta. theres some hotsory on the bham city council website too, including the murder of mary ashcroft, notably the last time someone was tried twice for the same thign and last trail by combat.UKbandit 15:44, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

- There are better sources out there - mainly books and leaflets. I'll dig around some archive newspapers as well. - Erebus555 16:44, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

- This seems to suggest that some sort of gravel quarrying may have taken place. The gravel pit now housing. This also seems to suggest some sort of quarrying for gravel in the area. The site is also now housing and is located very close to the slip road leading to the Aston Expressway. Those are the only references to gravel pits that I could find in relation to the area. It might be worth noting, but we could do with some other reference to show that quarrying definitely took place in the area. - Erebus555 (talk) 15:11, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Gareth Crompton
I have removed the phrase, "local campaigner" that appears before Gareth Crompton's name. It has no relevance to the article. It was a self awarded title that the local Conservative Party is keen to use for its activists who intend to stand for election.Valiant Son 04:45, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
