I think I read somewhere the number of 108 stupas was never achieved, it's only 102 or so. Would counting the stupas on a plan of the monastery count as "sourced"? Yaan (talk) 18:35, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

A plan is a source like any other. As is this image, which shows 102 stupas as well (actually, it only shows 100, as two are hidden behind the back corner). ---Latebird (talk) 04:57, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the image, the plan was actually far from being big enough - no way to make sure it whether it were 92 or 96 stupas on that wall (without counting the corners). I'll provide the exact citation for "108 probably envisioned" within the next days, the book is "Dschingis Khan und seine Erben". Yaan (talk) 15:39, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
