Erbil International Airport (IATA: EBL, ICAO: ORER) is an airport located in the north western part of the city of Arbil (also written Erbil or Irbil) adjacent to the suburb of Ankawa in Iraqi Kurdistan.
The airport has facilities for both cargo and passengers and sees daily flights. Erbil International Airport has one terminal for departures and arrivals. A new terminal is currently (2007) under construction and scheduled for completion in 2008. A new and much longer runway (finished) will accommodate larger planes. EIA uses the instrument landing system.
It is administered by the Kurdistan Regional Government under a special committee of the Prime Minister and is one of two international airports in Iraqi Kurdistan.
