Balista is a curious name for a horse. Ballista would make (a bit) more sense. I have seen both spellings at large on the web. Can somebody check which is actually correct? Gaius Cornelius 19:11, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

According to the official Athens2004 site, it is indeed with the single l. See athens2004.com. My guess is that the name comes from French (fr:Baliste), but that's speculation. — Jonel | Speak 05:05, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
