Equipped for the Future, a project of the Center for Literacy Studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville focuses on the development & dissemination of training, instructional materials, and technical assistance that support the implementation and integration of standards and standards-based practices into instruction, assessment, and program management. In recent years, EFF has collaborated with states and organizations nationwide to facilitate the development of the tools and processes needed to integrate statewide adult education standards. EFF has worked with state partners to develop state standards and has conducted training in numeracy, reading, writing and ESL instruction. In addition to development and training around standards, EFF has written the following curricula and related professional development which support workforce development: Preparing for Work: An EFF Work Readiness Curriculum; Preparing for Careers in Sales and Service; and Preparing for Careers in Healthcare.
