The Supernova was a Korean-made electric guitar manufactured by Epiphone for Noel Gallagher of the English band Oasis. Built to Gallagher's specification, the guitar features many elements similar to that of other Epiphone semi-acoustic guitars.

[edit] Design and sound

Featuring a double cutaway design, the Supernova is reminiscent of other Epiphones such as the Sheraton or Dot. The Supernova featured chrome hardware, including a stop bar tailpiece, humbucking pickups and tuners.

Featuring two Alnico 57 pickups, the guitar is tonally similar to the Sheraton and Gibson ES-335 guitars.

[edit] Available colours

The guitar was available in a number of colors, including Manchester City blue (which Noel Gallagher is a fan of). As a custom shop release, Epiphone also introduced an Epiphone Supernova featuring an Union Jack paintjob, which Gallagher had on his own guitar.

The Supernova was produced for a number of years, but has since been discontinued.
