copy:

* {{eol| }}

[edit] Usage

  1. Search on eol.org for the subject you want.
  2. Click on the correct link to go to the subject's page.
  3. The page URL should look like http://www.eol.org/taxa/#######, where "#######" indicates a number.
  4. Copy ONLY that number
  5. Add to the external links section the text:
* {{eol|#######|label}}
where "#######" is the number you've copied, and (optional) "label" is the subject's name, if it differs from the page title.

[edit] Example

  1. Search for Nicrophorus americanus on eol.org. You'll get to this page: http://www.eol.org/taxa/17128463
  2. Copy "17128463" and then add this number as the first parameter:
{{eol|17128463}}

The result on the page Nicrophorus americanus is:

Nicrophorus americanus at the Encyclopedia of Life

Typically this is a list item in the external links section (even if there is only one link), so you should add "*" in front.
