Enzo de Muro Lomanto

Enzo de Muro Lomanto (1902, Canosa di Puglia - February 15, 1952, Naples) was an Italian operatic tenor, particularly associated with the Italian repertory.

Born Vincenzo de Muro, he studied in Naples, and made his debut in Catanzaro, as Alfredo, in 1925, and shorthly after at the San Carlo in Naples, as Cavaradossi.

He made his la Scala debut in 1928, as Tonio, and sang there until 1943. He also appeared at the Paris Opera in 1936, as Duca di Mantua, and at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, as Hoffmann, in 1938.

He was particularly admired in Bellini and Donizetti roles, but also in works by Cilea, and he took part in the creation of Giordano 's Il Re, at La Scala, in 1929. He can be heard in the first ever complete recording of Lucia di Lammermoor, opposite Mercedes Capsir.

Muro Lomanto was married to soprano Toti dal Monte.
