Enzo Traverso

Enzo Traverso (born 1957) is a Italian historian living and working in France who has written on issues relating to the Holocaust and Totalitarianism. He is a professor of political science at the Jules Verne University of Picardy in France. His works include Understanding the Nazi Genocide: Marxism after Auschwitz, (Pluto, London, 1999) and The Origins of Nazi Violence, (New Press, New York, 2003).
In his youth, he was a militant in the Italian far left organization Potere Operaio. He is currently member of the French Trotskyist party Ligue Communiste Révolutionnaire.
