[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Saw IV.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Saw IV.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:43, 7 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk)
[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Kangaroo jack.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Kangaroo jack.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:20, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Max magician and the legend of the rings.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Max magician and the legend of the rings.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:13, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Saw iv poster.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Saw iv poster.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:02, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:HalloweenIII1_masks.jpg
Hi, thanks for your help at Wikipedia:Images_and_media_for_deletion/2007_September_8#Image:HalloweenIII1_masks.jpg. As a side note, you didnt need to upload the image again; you could have just changed the license template from {{Non-free promotional}} to {{Non-free film screenshot}}. To see why, take a look at the time/date column at Image:HalloweenIII1 masks.jpg#filehistory; note that there are now two copies of this image on the servers (they have different filenames). Not a big deal at all; many thanks for finding an appropriate template. John Vandenberg 04:05, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- I dont think it is possible to delete the extra copy, except by uploading it as another name and then deleting the old name, but even deleted images are kept on the servers. So, dont stress about it; its all part of the learning curve :-) John Vandenberg 13:19, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash
No offense, but I would rather you not post the ending to FvJvA. I understand the "Wikipedia contains spoilers" rule but in many ways its the equivalent to reading a script prior to its theatrical release and posting it on wikipedia. (BTW, when I made my edit summary I didn't know it was you added it, but I still think it shouldn't be there)--CyberGhostface 18:08, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Ok, just to point out, there is no article for "reimagining", it redirects to "Remake". So if you are going to persist in this edit war with the editors that disagree with the terminology, please pipe the link appropriately: [[Remake|reimagining]]. Thanks. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 13:08, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- Are you attempting to compete with me or something? I've noticed you've pulled things from my sandbox on Michael Myers, and apparently pushed your "literature" section--uncompleted from the looks--in recently. Obviously, there isn't a rule against such a thing, as anyone can edit any article they please, but it appears that you are trying to "beat" me to it. It's cool if you're just wanting to fix up the article, but not so much if you are stealing my personal research in an effort to undermine my own work; as that is the way it appears when I look at everything, and I apologize if I'm wrong. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 17:47, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
-
- Um, shall I pull from your sandbox and cite specific examples of where you've obviously taken from my personal Michael Myers sandbox? Do you really want that? It's one thing to work together, another to undermine the research efforts of Paul and myself and try and try and work them into the article as if you did it yourself. Welcome to the second issue of the WikiProject Saw's newsletter! Use this newsletter as a mechanism to inform yourselves about progress at the project and please be inspired to take more active roles in what we do. It's now "Saw Weekend" and Saw IV has been out for a couple of days now. (If you haven't seen it, don't worry, I won't spoil anything for you.) Because of this, a lot of the articles are probably going to need a bit of work. I'll go into more detail on other various sections. All in all, a lot of the 'challenges' from last month's newsletter are still here. Since the release of IV will probably be the last major release of info at least until next year's V we could probably just try to improve the information we already have. We would encourage all members to get more involved and if you are wondering what with, please ask. CyberGhostface 18:17, 29 October 2007 (UTC) |

[edit] F13
First, let's get some things straight. Wikipedia is not a current events website, it's an encyclopedia that is meant to use the most reliable sources possible. Second, scooper reports are not reliable in the least. We don't know who reported this, for all we know it could have been the damn key grip. They don't say. What they also do not do is actually say what it is. The only quote there is "it's not a remake", and then Shock Till You Drop starts to do their own speculation. Given that there is a Writer's Strike going on, and they don't have a script, and don't plan on filming for quite some time, the movie can be anything. Right now, the most reliable sources are billing it as a remake (i.e. People with actual names are the ones saying it is a remake). BTW, you have reached your 3 reverts within 24 hours (as have I). Just fair warning. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 01:39, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- Please read WP:V and WP:RS before adding any material, thank you. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 01:40, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
I agree with Bignole on his assessment about the ShockTillYouDrop.com rumor. Since the person is unidentified, there is no indication of its validity. Anyone can say anything under the guise of anonymity. If ShockTillYouDrop.com received a statement from the director or another public figure related to the film, the information would be admissible. If this information is valid, surely it will come from a reliable source in time, and we can edit it into the franchise article. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 02:02, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- I know we don't know who reported this, but it says that it's "a source close to the project," who just wants to remain anonymous. I don't really know what a "damn key grip" is, but I'm sure it's not that. It could be anyone involved in the film, but I don't think it's anyone outside of the film. Is it okay is I put "It has been rumored. . . ."? — Enter Movie 02:35, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
-
- A key grip works on the movie. Wikipedia is not a rumormill. The fact that they are remaining anonymous screams that they aren't an authority figure that makes these types of announcements to begin with. It's always someone "close to the project". Someone "close to the project" claimed that Tom Welling was in the running to place Superman for the new Justice League of America. His agent, and Al Gough and Miles Millar all denied such a rumor, and it later turned out that he was not in the running at all. If it's true, then Bay, Shannon, Swift, or someone else of authority will officially announce what it is when they deem appropriate. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 02:45, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- An authority figure doesn't need to make these announcements to prove that they're true. A key grip's announcements could even be true, but I doubt it since they haven't shot the film yet. It would probably be the executive producer(s), script supervisor, etc. And about the Tom Welling/Superman thing, I would like it if you would provide proof because you could be telling the truth or just lying. You don't need to if you don't want to though. That's why I'm suggesting we put "It has been rumored. . . ." — Enter Movie 03:04, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

-
- Wiki does not post "rumors". That's clearly stated in Wikipedia:Verifiability. The source is publishing a rumor, as they are not attributing any name to the source they received it from. For all we know, they've made it up, or the person they spoke with made it up. Shock Til You Drop is not above posting simple rumors. Also, the Tom Welling announcement was made on an episode of Attack of the Show, where IESB made the remark Which you can read their original article right here. To quote them:"Studio sources have exclusively revealed to the IESB that someone has been approached to fill the shoes of the Man of Steel!" -- Yet, of those studio sources were passing along real information, why is it that Welling's name has not come up since, and Gough, Millar and just about everyone else has said it wasn't true? Rumors are, as a whole, unencyclopedic and unverifiable/unreliable, because anyone can say anything they want and pass it off as a "rumor". BIGNOLE (Contact me) 03:13, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

- Okay. But just out of curiosity, why do you put up references for the Hollywood Reporter and Bloody-Disgusting when they don't have any proof (except when they talk to the producers, screenwriters, director, etc.)? — Enter Movie 03:40, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

- The Hollywood Reporter is a trade newspaper, which has editorial oversight and fact checking. They are the film equivalent of USA Today or any other news organization you think of. The only other trade newspaper for the film industry is Variety. Bloody Disgusting is an independent run website, which relies more on scooper (i.e. anonymous tips) than first hand interviews, even though they do occassionally get first hand interviews. Hi,
What was the rationale for these edits? Using an automatic template is neater and imposes less effort on users keeping pages up to date. The clear means we've got a bit of useless whitespace at the top of the page, too. Am I missing something? Chris Cunningham (talk) 13:32, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

An editor has nominated Predator technology, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Predator technology and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 14:59, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
