Enrique Hidalgo

Enrique Hidalgo is a popular musician and author of 500 songs, notably “Barcelonesa”, “Presagio” and “La Carta”. He composes for cuatro, harp and steel band among others. Hidalgo is the composer of famous pieces of the Venezuelan folklore. His compositions have been interpreted by singers and musical groups inculding Gualberto Ibarreto, Quinto Criollo, Juan Carlos Salazar.

Hidalgo was born in El Tigre, Anzoátegui state, Venezuela, March 10, 1942. He is married to Yamila Soto, with six sons: Jesus, Jannio, Javier, Jaime, Jonás and Sasha. Enrique Hidalgo now resides in Miami, Florida.
