From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ELSA (English Longitudinal Study of Ageing) is being conducted by NatCen, the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the University College London. ELSA has been in the field twice now. In the first wave (2002) 8000 households were interviewed. Wave two went in the field in 2004 and included a nurse visit in order to collect biomarkers such as lung function, balance and blood pressure.
ELSA has a number of sister studies over the world:
- HRS The Health and Retirement Study
- SHARE The Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe
- KLoSA The Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging
