English Baroque Soloists

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The English Baroque Soloists is a chamber orchestra playing on period instruments, formed in 1978 by English conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner. Its repertoire comprises music from the early Baroque period to the Classical period. They often appear with John Eliot Gardiner's choir, the Monteverdi Choir.

The orchestra has recorded primarily under Archiv Produktion and Philips Classics labels. Soli Deo Gloria is a new label created by John Eliot Gardiner, associated with the Monteverdi Choir and the English Baroque Soloists, dedicated to the recordings made during the Bach Cantata Pilgrimage.
