[edit] Introduction
Multimedia University (Melaka Campus), as an establishment consisting around 10000 students, has more than 1500 students currently pursuing their tertiary studies in the line of engineering under the supervision of Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET). In addition to this, there are a total of more than 400 students in the Alpha Engineering level, waiting to join the faculty.
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology has successfully produced high quality engineers with sound knowledge of the engineering field. It has also effectively instilled engineering qualities into each and every student that sets their foot into the faculty. However, with the ever-increasing numbers of students in the faculty, there was a need for a society to assist the engineering students to their dream field – engineering.
From this the Engineering Society (ENGSOC) was found in 1999 after the establishment of University Multimedia (Melaka Campus). As compared to the previous Engineering Society, which existed before the splitting of the two campuses, the Engineering Society in Melaka Campus has a new set of objectives and committee structure to complement the new faculty.
[edit] Vision
To assist the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in producing more productive engineers and through this, develop a sense of loyalty and belonging to the faculty itself. Through our work, we also aim to achieve a society that is recognized by all members of the engineering population in the university.
[edit] Mission
1. To incorporate the engineering mind into fellow engineering students.
2. To promote a sense of belonging and loyalty to the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and to the university in general.
3. Create an organization where fellow engineering students have the opportunity to contribute, learn, grow and advance based on meritocracy.
4. Establish tools to disseminate information on behalf of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
