EngenuitySC, created in 2003, is an active public/private sector partnership focused on the knowledge-based economy in the Columbia, South Carolina region. It is compromised of business and industry leaders, along with representatives from local government and academia. Its goal is to encourage entrepreneurship and commercialize ideas in an effort to help knowledge-based companies and create access to start-up investment capital. EngenuitySC is a 501c6 nonprofit corporation and receives funding from private businesses in the Columbia region, city and county governments, federal funding and higher education institutions. [1]
