Enfield High School, South Australia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Enfield High School, located at Gepps Cross, South Australia opened in 1953 as the first high school in the northern suburbs of Adelaide. Until then the only options were Adelaide High School or Nailsworth Technical School. Students travelled from as far away as Virginia (over 20 km to the North) and Salisbury.

In 1968 the school was one of the largest in South Australia with 1,720 students and 72 teachers.

The school has greatly downsized since with little over 130 students attending daily.

60% of the students that attend are boys because of two female-only high schools nearby.
