[edit] Copyright violation possible
I removed material that was word-for-word from endsville.ca/bio.html; see WP:COPYVIO. --Paul Erik 00:39, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. Keith Jolie from Endsville here - I posted that information, and own the copyright. Since it is all factual information is there a way to revert back to the version I did? I can be contacted at keith@endsville.ca if you want verification that this is not a violation of copyright. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.228.209.145 (talk • contribs) 12:42, 13 April 2007
Hello, Keith Jolie. Good to have you contributing. Take a look at WP:COI, if you have not done so yet, as it provides some guidelines related to writing about a topic to which you have a close connection. As for the material you posted, if you would like Wikipedia to make use of it, then you would have to post on the external site endsville.ca/bio.html the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." I do not fully understand the policies myself but it is apparent that Wikipedia is very careful about possible copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Copyright policy for further explanation. Also you can leave me a message on my talk page if you have other questions. Hope that helps. Cheers, --Paul Erik 23:38, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
