The following section of text has been removed per Wikipedia:Verifiability A Google search for (Professor Edward McCaffrey Daniel Shaviro financial endowment) found a single reference (http://law.gmu.edu/faculty/papers/docs/03-23.pdf) that was not found to support the statement. Please recall that per Wikipedia:Verifiability#Burden_of_evidence "The burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material. Any material that is challenged or likely to be challenged needs a reliable source, which should be cited in the article. If an article topic has no reliable, third-party sources, Wikipedia should not have an article on it."
Begin removed section Professors Edward McCaffrey and Daniel Shaviro believe that a person's true wage rate should be an adequate proxy for a person's financial endowment. As such, the endowment tax they envision is not a wealth tax but an implicit periodic head tax that is assessed per year irrepective of actual earned income. Therefore, hughly skilled lawyers would could earn a million dollars a year would not escape tax liability if they chose to become beachcombers. End removed section
