Endon's title at the time of her death was Datin Paduka Seri. As a Selangor born lady, the convention is that she would have used the highest title awarded by that state to her and this was the Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (SPMS) which carries the title Datuk Seri and Datin Paduka Seri for male and female recipients respectively. Endon did not receive any federal titles in her lifetime unlike other wives of Malaysian Prime Ministers, due to her very brief tenure as Prime Minister's wife.
She was not given a "state funeral" which under Malaysian convention (Protocol Office, Primne Minister's Department) is only given to commoners by command of His Majesty the King. No such command was given by HM King Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail. The use of a national flag on her coffin was done without the official sanction of the King and is not a sign of a "state funeral". The only commoners given state funerals under Malaysian convention have been former Prime Ministers and Deputy Prime Ministers as well as former MCA President Tun Tan Cheng Lock (1960, Malacca), former Leader of the Opposition Dato' Onn Jaafar (1962, Johor Bahru), former Minister of Transport Tan Sri V. Manickavasagam (1978, Kuala Lumpur) and former Finance Minister Tun Tan Siew Sin (1988, Malacca) - Sultan Mydin
