Talk:Endless Love (film)

This link for Martin Hewitt is wrong.
Undertook some minor changes to the trivia section. The one bullet had stats on three different actors. It also stated this was Tom Cruise's second film, when in fact, it was actually his first. Mincan 00:00, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wasn't this film banned?
I seem to recall that when this film was released it sparked a huge controversy over the love scenes involving the under-18 Shields. I even remember clearly seeing a news story about it being banned in much of the United States. I did a Google search and can't find any source to cite on this. Does anyone recall this? 23skidoo 15:01, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- I wasn't alive at the time, but studied this film extensively a couple years ago and do not remember anything like that. On the contrary, it seemed to be available at the cinema nation wide in your country as I've read many experiences. It wouldn't have been made I think if they weren't going to allow it to show in theatres, goes against the reason for making movies with stars like Brooke Shields, to make money.--Mincan 01:33, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- I saw this in the theater in the U.S. and don't remember any such ban. 68.93.32.250 23:11, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Maybe not a ban, then (anyone check Boston?) but I remember this film sparking media debate over sexuality in film. That I clearly remember. 23skidoo (talk) 14:29, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Deleted content
I deleted two trivia items that had no sources. One, involving Jodie Foster being promoted for the lead role, was potentially a minor WP:BLP issue. The second item, claiming that the director tugged Shields' toe to elicit a reaction during the love scenes may not be a BLP issue, but is still dubious enough that it needs a source (sounds like it might have been taken from the IMDb listing - I haven't checked but it has the same ring). If anyone can provide sourcing for these two, feel free to put them back (though Wikipedia is trying to phase out Trivia sections so putting them under a "Production" heading is probably a better idea). 23skidoo (talk) 14:29, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
