[edit] Advice
Hi there; may I tell you a couple of things?
When you post a message, it is very helpful if you sign it. You do this by adding, at the end, this - ~~~~. Particularly when you warn a vandal as you recently (correctly) did, we do need to know who you are, and while I can ferret your name out, having it on-screen is much quicker.
No, this is not a chat page. There are NO chat pages in wikipedia, and even on the talk-pages personal chit-chat is very strongly discouraged.
When you add a talk-page comment, unless it follows directly on from a preceding comment, it is tidier if you first click on the "+" icon at the top of the page, and then type in a short title for your posting, as I did here. (Advice). It makes the page neater, and much easier to follow.
I think that you have not received our standard welcome message. Allow me to present it to you; you will find a lot of very useful information here, pretty much indispensable if you intend to be a serious editor here, which I hope you do.
Welcome!
Hello, EncyclopediaBuilder, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}}
after the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! --Anthony.bradbury 20:25, 27 April 2007 (UTC) EncyclopediaBuilder 20:26, 27 April 2007 (UTC) EncyclopediaBuilder 20:26, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
