[edit] Hangon tag
((HANG ON))
The hangon tag needs to be put in the article itself. To make the template you need to use {{curly brackets like this}}. Please use the article's talk page to explain why you believe it should be kept. --WikiSlasher 03:17, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
{{hangon}} is only for pages marked for speedy deletion. Please do not place them on articles that are not so marked. Dancter 19:48, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] External links
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. -SCEhardT 06:56, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Conflict of interest
If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
- and you must always:
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.
Accounts used solely for blatant self-promotion may be blocked indefinitely without further warning.
For more details, please read the Conflict of Interest guideline. Thank you. Dancter 18:44, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Dimitris Labato=
I really thing that his highschool career is not notable by our standards, not even remotely. I can delete when I feel this is totally incontestably the case, but I'm waiting for someone else to endorse my judgement. May I seriously suggest that you remove the tag, and substitute a tag {{db-userreq}} which will request deletion, showing you understand. Then, go on to contribute in a more productive way -- see Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia DGG 22:30, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Little context in List of Lowrider clubs
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on List of Lowrider clubs, by RHaworth, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because List of Lowrider clubs is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting List of Lowrider clubs, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and put a note on its talk page. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate List of Lowrider clubs itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:43, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notability of Dimitris Labatos
A tag has been placed on Dimitris Labatos, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. TorstenGuise 13:54, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:200px-Freddie Pendleton.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:200px-Freddie Pendleton.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 21:00, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:David Obregon.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:David Obregon.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] New marlins stadium
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article New marlins stadium, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of New marlins stadium. Fabrictramp (talk) 17:08, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on New marlins stadium, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how New marlins stadium is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:New marlins stadium saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. BillCJ (talk) 18:36, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of McMillan Middle School
A tag has been placed on McMillan Middle School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Mr Senseless (talk) 14:19, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. With regards to the above, the sole contents of which consisted of a request to add an article, the place to request articles is Wikipedia:Requested articles. If you were requesting permission to create such an article yourself, you don't need to ask first, but you will need to make sure that your article meets guidelines in order to avoid deletion. In this case, you would want to verify the notability of the school with references to reliable, published sources. Be sure to remain neutral and don't add any information that can't be verified. If you have more questions about this, you might want to head over to the help desk. You can also ask me at my talk page, but I will soon be away from my keyboard for several days, so the help desk might be quicker. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:43, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Jaime Rodriguez (Golfer)
A tag has been placed on Jaime Rodriguez (Golfer), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Corvus cornixtalk 22:50, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Eligio Sardiñas Montalvo
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Eligio Sardiñas Montalvo, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Kid Chocolate. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:15, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] March 2008
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. Specifically, you copied the contents of Eligio Sardiñas Montalvo This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. [edit] Fort Lauderdale, Florida
I reverted your edits to the article which added "famous people", because a separate (and fully referenced) list exists at List of people from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which is linked from the "see also" section. Bulleted lists should not appear in prose articles, and the previous list was removed prior to the article achieving Good Article status. See Wikipedia:Embedded list for an explanation of why lists should be used sparingly, if at all, and understand that this guideline is a part of the [[Wikipedia:Good article criteria]. I have re-reverted your change. Please do not change it again. Horologium (talk) 12:58, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. [edit] Copyrights and fair use images
I have removed your image twice from Iván Rodríguez and twice you have reverted my edits, in my edit summaries it was explained that they were removed by the Non-free content guideline, more specific the Unacceptable use section which states quite clearly that "Pictures of people still alive, groups still active, and buildings still standing" are prohibited, neither Rodriguez nor Lowell are dead, thus this section applies directly. By persistently restoring the image you are directly violating a guideline, which is disruptive behaviour, if this patttern persists it will undoubtly end up with blocks. - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:45, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
