[edit] Spend Some Time
Anyone know where the sample in this track comes from, or if its even a sample in the first place? --Kiand 12:01, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] What the...
Eh, I think its really, really obvious that this album is called "Encore", not "3ncore", despite the reversed E. --Kiand 18:29, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
- I think we should just let the title be "3NCORE" since the "E" is reversed, not to mention, the title "Encore (album)" takes up more namespace. --SuperDude 20:16, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
-
- The E may be reversed, but its not a three. --Kiand 20:45, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
The text at [www.eminem.com] describes the album as "Encore". So do all other reputable sources I can find. I'm moving it back. Christopher Parham (talk) 16:53, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
The reversed "E" is just a part of Eminem's trademark. It makes as much sense to call his own article "Emin3m". The name of this album, therefore, is Encore, not 3ncore. Use your common sense. 2Pac 19:43, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Rap or Hip-hop Dispute
People, when you make a page on Eminem. Remember he's a rap artist. Not hip hop.
How silly can you get? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 202.173.173.4 (talk • contribs) .
- Rap is the same as hip-hop music. Don't get it twisted, newbie. jglc | t | c 09:06, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
no it isn't, and newbie makes you sound like an uptight runescpae nerding bastarding prick Rubberchix 12:55, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- As far as Wikipedia is concerned, Rap music is Hip-hop. If you feel like the two subjects need splitting, head over to Talk:Hip hop music and make your case there. Also, calling peoples newbies or "uptight runescpae nerding bastarding prick" is not really polite, or appropriate for a resource like Wikipedia. Hippoking 16:24, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Rap is by no means the same thing as hip-hop. Although the media tries to sell it off as the same thing, it's not. Hip-hop is a culture or movement that began in the streets. Rap is the music of that culture. Hip-hop itself is not a form of music. Hip-hop consists of rap (among other things), breakdancing, and different styles of dressing and slang.
hip hop iz a type of music, not the same as rap. ur all idiotz. - kozmic|sk8r 23:23, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
You're all forgetting that the meanings of words evolve as people use them. Although "hip hop" may have once referred to a broad social movement encompassing the musical genre of "rap," it is now synonymous with rap as it is used in the context of music. Enough of the anti-commercial dingbats saying "hip hop" and "rap" aren't the same; even if hip hop didn't specifically denote a genre of music, rap is a subset of hip hop, and so if Eminem is a rap artist, he is also a hip-hop artist by default. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.92.109.56 (talk) 21:08, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unencyclopedic
- Does anyone else think this article sounds more like a review (especially the "Tracks" Section) than an encyclopedia article? L3th4l 19:52, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- It is original research. I will remove it as such until the contrib relists with citations. Daemon8666 19:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Tracks

OK, but the actual FACTS from these sections should be taken out and put under a trivia section.

[edit] question about word usage
I read this phrase in the introduction "due to the leakage of the album on the Internet." I thought that was an extremely awkward and possibly incorrect use of the word "leakage". I don't recall ever having heard the word leakage used like this; it does not mean "the state of being leaked", it refers to more of a process of leaking, and the "leak" of intellectual property is generally considered to be a one-time event>> It hasn't leaked, it leaked then, it has leaked. You wouldn't say "it is leaking". So I'm changing the word. 216.164.51.162 (talk) 23:16, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
you know you don't have to talk like that 202.76.158.8 (talk) 07:45, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
