Enchi is a town in Ghana. It is the capital of Aowin-Suaman district. Other main towns in the Aowin-Suaman district include Dadieso, New Yakasi, Achimfo, Boinso, Jema, Omanpe, Sewum and Jomoro.
The current Leaders include the paramount chief Nana (Odeneho) Brentu III, of Aowin, Nana Brentu of Suaman, District Chief Executive, Mr. Ofori Asante, Member of Paliament, Honorable Adu- Gyamfi.
The mainline denominational churches include the Roman catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian, and Anglican. Charismatic/ Pentecostal churches include Church of Pentecost, Assemlies of God, New Covenant Family Church (West Africa)and the Apostolic Church of Ghana. Several natives recently named as examplery for the youth to emulate include Bishop Joseph Quainoo, first to be consecrated to the episcopate, Mr. Cobbinah, Rtd., Commissioner of Police, Dr. (Mrs) Mercy Nuamah, Ph. D., Mrs. Victoria Aidoo-Afo, Principal of Enchi Training College, Assistant Commissioner of Police Alex Quainoo, I/C Budget, Dr. S. B. Arthur and several others.
Higher Ed. Schools include Brentu Senior Secondary and Enchi Training College.
The largest river in the district is the Tano whose tributary, the Desue flows in the middle of Enchi.
Beside the Enchi Government Hospital, there are the Presbyterian Health Center and a couple others in the other towns. The New Covenant Family Church together with their parent Church from the USA hold annual mobile clinics in the villages typically in May or July at which free Health Awareness information and free medications are distributed to residents who also receive free blood pressure screening, etc. Over the last 4 years large donations have been given to the Government Hospital and the Presby Health Center as well as the clinic at Sewum.
