Enar Jääger (born November 18, 1984 in Kohila) is an Estonian professional footballer, who plays in the Norwegian Tippeligaen, for Aalesunds FK. He is a versatile defender, starting off at FC Flora Tallinn as centre-back, and receiving praise from Guus Hiddink, who was quoted saying he would buy him to his club if he only had more height. He is also a member of the Estonia national football team.

[edit] Early career
Enar Jääger was born in Kohila, Estonia. He began playing football in local club FC Flora Kehtna. In season 2000 he had short spell with JK Tervis Pärnu. At the age of 16, Enar started his professional career with FC Flora Tallinn, Estonia's biggest club, in 2001. He played there only one league game. A year later he joined with FC Valga, but after two seasons he moved back to FC Flora Tallinn.
[edit] FC Torpedo Moscow
On February 3, 2005, Jääger signed a 3-year contract with Russian Premier League club FC Torpedo Moscow.[1] Twelve days later he played his first game for FC Torpedo Moscow against FC Metalurh Donetsk.[2] In Russia often played as right-back, but even in front of the defence as a defensive midfielder. His club FC Torpedo Moscow were relegated from the Russian Premier League at the end of the 2006 season, and he then moved to Norway.

On March 7, 2007, he signed a 2 and a half-year contract with Norwegian Tippeligaen club Aalesunds FK.[3] He played his first Norwegian Tippeligaen match on May 16, 2007, in a 3-0 victory against Strømsgodset IF.[4] Jääger scored his first Tippeligean goal on April 20, 2008, in a 5-0 victory against HamKam.[5]

For Estonia, Jääger is capped 53 times. He made his national team debut on October 12, 2002 against New Zealand in a Friendly match.[6]
