"Consort Cao was forced to commit suicide", how, precisely, were they "forced"?
- In Consort Cao's case, Emperor Cheng sent an eunuch to deliver poison to her, and then she took it herself, so it was a "suicide" in the sense that she was not poisoned by forcefeeding, but it was forced in the sense that that was the implication -- if she didn't drink it herself, she would suffer a worse death. --Nlu (talk) 15:08, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
