Talk:Empire of the Sun
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Why is the summary about the film, not the book? And how is this related to Japan? It's told from an entirely British perspective. None of the Japanese have any speaking parts.
-Sure they do, they're just in Japanese.
yea there needs to be a book section and a film section

[edit] Split articles
I've split the article into two: Empire of the Sun for the novel and Empire of the Sun (film) for the film. The reason I felt a split was necessary because the novel and sun are more important in their own separate rights, and the article was quite confusing with both a film and novel infobox, two different summaries, etc. The movie article needs quite a lot of work, though, so if you feel you can help, lend a hand! [edit] Plot summary
Also, I'm not positive if the plot described here pertains to the novel (which I've not read) or the film (which I watched years ago and cann't remember in great detail). If someone can determine this, and fix both articles to reflect their proper summaries -- because I'm certain the film is not exactly like the novel in plot description -- that would be great. - It's for the film. I'll move it to the film article, but I don't have time to write a new summary for the book's plot, sorry. Sh5626 23:40, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Shanghai International Settlement
I'm assuming this is the location the novel starts out in? If so, it might be an interesting bit of trivia worth mentioning in both articles. -- MiG 20:15, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
