Emotional Griptape is the third single from the album Seeing Red, from the band LiveonRelease.
The song's lyrics are about a boyfriend who is a professional skateboarder who spends more time skating than with his girlfriend. He is emotionally insensitive and needs to realize that his girlfriend is leaving him because he doesn't have emotional griptape, hence the song's name. Emotional griptape is a metaphor for being emotionally intact and sensitive to other people's feelings.
