[edit] Srebrenica article in need of vigilance

KOCOBO, Osli73, Srbijanković, Svetislav Jovanović, and Bormalagurski have all teamed up to do a major renovation of the Srebrenica Massacre article. Since they are working in concert, it is easy to make a single user go past their three reverts. It is not clear how administrators will see this. I will hold out as long as I can, but the original editors of this article will need to be vigilant if is not to be lost to nationalist revisionists. All of the above mentioned editors are from the WikiSerbia forum... whatever they call it. 128.253.56.185 22:20, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

I have seen that vandalism, so I asked some admins to stop them. --Emir Arven 22:15, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Osli's vandalism

Emir Arven, Live Forever, Bosniak, Bosoni, HanzoHattori, Dado, Haris M:

I would like to protect the Srebrenica massacre introduction from any further vandalism by Osli. He repeatedly deletes sentences from the intro that are accurate, true, relevant, and well referenced.

If we can all agree on the text of the intro, then it will become entirely clear to administrators that Osli is a vandal.

Please look at the intro as it stands now. It would be great if we could all leave it as it is now or quickly come to an introduction that we all can agree to. Currently, it explains in stark terms what happened. That is why Osli wants to delete the sentences. Make the truth less clear in the beginning, so that he can then throw in his “Defend Milosevic! Defend Serbia!” propaganda and potentially confuse some of the readers.

Please all take a look at the intro. Let’s all come to an agreed upon intro and let it stand. Then if Osli continues to delete sentences from the intro it will clearly be vandalism and if he continues, perhaps he can be banned. Then we can concentrate on the article and let our own differences of opinion be a source for constructive conversation and continuing improvement of the article.

What do you think? Fairview360 00:41, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] vandals

Emir, sorry for the intrusion here but still learning how to send messages. The Bosniak article just got severely vandalized by an ultra-nationalist Serb. Needs help from someone who knows how to quickly revert extensive edits. --Fairview360 18:32, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Insults by Ivan Kricancic

[edit] Sockpuppet

And you asked me for an evidence about sock puppet, here it is:

I want to report Ivan Kricancic, so I will ask anyone to post this massage to [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?action=edit&preload=Wikipedia%3ARequests+for+checkuser%2FInputbox%2FSample&editintro=Wikipedia%3ARequests+for+checkuser%2FInputbox%2FHeader&title=Wikipedia%3ARequests+for+checkuser%2FCase%2FIvan+Kricancic&create=Request+a+checkuser page] Emir Arven 11:29, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ivan Kricancic

  • Code letter: C

Ivan Kricancic is a user who spread hatred against Bosniaks insulting them and destroying articles related to them. He told me: Whenever I see an edit made by a fanatical Bosniak user, I will be sure to include your user name in the edit summary., and immidiately he went to Srebrenica Genocide and Alija Izetbegović articles to provoke. He didn't read the articles, but he reverted it immediately in order to provoke. I asked him about IP address and he didn't answer me. But continued to provoke. Here is another earlier case that proves this, just compare his address 58.165.126.17 and his edit 58.165.126.17.

Emir Arven 11:27, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ivan Kricancic - sockpuppet, can anyone check that?

WTF are you talking about? You clearly did not revert an edit made by me. KingIvan 08:31, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Really, how did you know so quickly that I reverted it? Emir Arven 08:33, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Umm, how about because a few minutes ago User:Jim Douglas posted a message on my talk page informing me that you were talking about me. KingIvan 08:35, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

How nice. Emir Arven 08:37, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

'Tis nice isn't it. Now please apologise for what you've been saying about me. KingIvan 08:40, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Can you remind me? What did I say about you? Emir Arven 08:44, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, you accused me of removing comments from an article talk page. Furthermore, you have been talking about me on other user talk pages - I have absolutely no idea how to Speak Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, but I can only assume when you wrote "Ustašoidi" about me, that was you calling me "Usatsi" or something. Please apologise, and try not to use personal attacks on Wikipedia. KingIvan 08:50, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, as you said, you could just assume, and you'd assumed wrong, these terms are not the same. And the most important I was not talking to you. So it is rude to read other people's discussions. So please apologise, and try not to insult Bosniaks. I am aware that you are aware how stupid it is, to publicly expose yourself in the user page, with your real name, because there are so many craze people out there, who can be insulted by your words, and because of that you use different accounts sometimes, or you edit articles unsigned. Am I right, but first apologise! It would be a nice gesture. Emir Arven 08:59, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

If you didn't want your discussions read by other users, then you should have emailed instead of used the talk page - the talk page is meant to be read. You still have not apologised for your personal attacks, furthermore, you were even more rude in what you said above. Until you apologise, whenever I see an edit made by a fanatical Bosniak user, I will be sure to include your user name in the edit summary. KingIvan 09:04, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Is that a threat? Emir Arven 09:06, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

No. It is me doing to you, what you are doing to me. All I want is an apology for your personal attacks, and yet you are teh picture of incivility. KingIvan 09:08, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

I don't have to apologise because I didn't insult you, I told my opinion about you to Bosniak, not to you, in the same way you said your opinion about my nation in your user page. I said to Bosniak, that it is dificult to work with fanatical assholes who keep removing pictures related to Bosnia by putting templates for deletion. And now, you should apologise to me and to my nation.Emir Arven 09:15, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Wow, even more personal attacks. I really wasn't expecting that from a good, honest, editor like yourself, who never pushes your nationalistic POV on Wikipedia! Perhaps I should just revert every single edit of yours that I see until I get an apology. KingIvan 09:19, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

So that is a threat! Ok then...Emir Arven 09:20, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

I'd also like to say that I admire your brilliant detective skills, because since you have obviously read my user page, you noticed that I live in Mackay, and that anonymous editor is from Brisbane - you know... because Mackay and Brisbane are obviously the same city. KingIvan 09:24, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

So you admit that you're sockpuppet. Can anyone check that? Emir Arven 09:31, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

OMFG! You're not a native English speaker, are you? Since you didn't see the sarcasm in what I said above, I'll explain it more clearly for you:- The anonymous user was editing from Brisbane, the capital of Queensland in the south-east corner of the state. I am editing from Mackay - a small town in North Queensland, which is hundreds of kilometres away from Brisbane, so it just shows that you were wrong in accusing me of being that anonymous user.

The only way to find the truth is to ask someone with the Check-User rights. Because you can lie. Do you agree? Emir Arven 09:45, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, it's pretty simple to see that the IP is from Brisbane - just click on the link that I gave you. As for me living in Mackay, I could upload a picture of my driver's license if you wish. KingIvan 09:47, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

You didn't answer my question. Do you agree? Emir Arven 10:17, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

I was not talking to you. I just noticed you. Btw HRE, what are you doing here? I didn't invite you. I was not discussing with you...Or you think we should start history discussions and articles re-editing? Emir Arven 12:34, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Will you please stop

Emir, please stop falsely accusing me of doing anything. Please stop making personal attacks against me, and accusations against me. If you disagree with someone's edits, then take it up with them, but do not make personal attacks against me and stop accusing me. You know as well as I do that these sorts of actions are childish, so please stop. And remove personal attacks against me please. Thank you. KingIvan 11:44, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Ivan, I just told you I would report you. That is not personal attack. That is valuable information for you. Emir Arven 13:47, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
You know very well that you are attacking me, provoking me, falsely accusing me, harassing me, and so on. Now please answer this question because it would be a great help - do you properly understand the English language? I have reason to believe that what first started this dispute was a communication misunderstanding, as English is not your native language. You may have just misinterpreted something I said in our initial encounter, or maybe you did not express yourself very well. And stop pretending that you are here to edit constructively, when it is clear that all you do is preach hate, spread propaganda, edit war and attack other users. I have shown on numerous occasions that I am willing to forgive your misdeeds and try to get along with you, but yet you continue with your attacks and rampant incivility. Please do not stoop to the level of a troll. Stop acting like a child - I mean, what are you, 30 or 40 years old? By that age most people would have settled down, started a family, and learned how to treat others with respect. Now look at me; I am 17 years old, but I am far more mature than you currently are. All I am asking, is that you stop attacking people, stop falsely accusing people and just get on with the business of building the encyclopedia - if you are unwilling to fulfill such a simple request, then i must strongly recommend that you confine your activities to the Bosnian Wikipedia; I don't know how things are done over there, but on the English Wikipedia, personal attacks, rampant incivility, and edit warring is heavily frowned upon. Please stop. KingIvan 07:04, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
You are wrong. After you were strongly warned by AnonEMouse, because you pretended to be an ethnic Bosniak in order to push false information about Bosniaks, your second accound was indefinitely blocked. Ivan Kricancic - proven sock puppets I just said I would report you if you continue to do this. P.S. When I edit I provide sourceses, I don't pretend to be an ethnic Croat in order to push false information, and you as a Croat pretended to be a Bosniak. That is really low. If you do this as a young man, what should we expect from you when you become older? Emir Arven 09:59, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reply

Ease down, man. :) No one's accusing ya for anything. I fully understand you. :)

Problem is such people will never know as detailed as the very Balkaners themselves. Such a thing is with Rudolph Archibald Rice, who although passionate and a wonderful writer, is slightly biased writing about history of Yugoslavs.

You'd be surprised how foreigners (to the Balkans) can blatantly make mistakes, POVness occurs even more frequently in such cases, although the difference is that it's not on purpose. --PaxEquilibrium 20:24, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
The suspicions that Serbia might be hiding Ratko Mladic for several months might be founded. I was completely assured that they got him last year (it was reported practically everywhere). After the new government is formed, it will make the data public and we'll see if it was really helping war criminals, or just subjected to false accusations by those who do not like it. --PaxEquilibrium 20:29, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 58.165.126.167

Emir, as I stated before, I strongly advise you to take this to WP:RFCU instead of making accusations at Ivan Kricancic (talk · contribs). You know that making accusations will not do anything, but further escalate the conflict. Please make a new case for the IP, and do not provoke Ivan anymore. Nishkid64 17:29, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Ivan

Instead of saying "rv Ivan if you continue to do this, I will report you!" in the edit summary, please go to WP:RFCU and create another sockpuppetry case against the user. What you did was not against the rules, but it was definitely the best plan of action. Nishkid64 19:33, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Please go to WP:RFCU. I (and all other admins) cannot do anything about this without a CheckUser being done. Go to WP:RFCU to make a case, and we'll decide from there. Nishkid64 19:40, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
RFCU is the only way anything can be carried out (i.e. blocks, etc.) Nishkid64 19:40, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Okay, see Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Ivan Kricancic. I've transcluded it to WP:RFCU, and I've left a clerk note. Please provide specific diffs, Emir Arven. Nishkid64 20:04, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Ustašoidi u akciji"

Hey Emir. Could you please translate this for me? Thanks, Khoikhoi 21:11, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi Khoikhoi, that was my private message in Bosnian language that I addressed to Ancient Land a month ago, trying to warn Ancient Land that Ivan keeps nominating Bosniak-related pictures for deletion. I even translated Ivan what I said, when he asked me. But that was not addressed to him, but to Ancient Land. I used some bad words that are typical for Bosnian slang, provoked by his actions, and I was also blocked because of that for 2 weeks, although he should be blocked because of his actions. I could also send this message by an email, but I thought if I write it in Bosnian language, then it will be considered as a private message. Emir Arven 22:58, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RFCU result

Well, I totally forgot about the whole IP thing. This means that you cannot do the RFCU, because Ivan has his right to privacy to conceal his IP address while he is under a registered account. You could go to WP:AN/I and get the opinion of other admins (it seems your AN post wasn't very productive). Ask others if they would agree that Ivan is possibly using those IP addresses. Nishkid64 23:45, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Husein

Emir, could you please remove "Bosniak" (and replace with "Bosnian") from the Husein Gradaščević article? I think that could be a compromise. --PaxEquilibrium 00:35, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

When you put "Bosnian" in Ivo Andirć article. Emir Arven 11:39, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
No, no, no. This is per Mehmed-paša Sokolović. --PaxEquilibrium 12:26, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Yes, yes, yes. The same thing. Emir Arven 12:27, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Well, will you do the edit then or should we revert back the Mehmed-paša Sokolović? --PaxEquilibrium 13:29, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
As I told you. When you write that Ivo Andrić is Bosnian writer. I know that you are obssesed with nationality, origin or ethnicity. You should be geneticist :) But you know we live in modern world. Anachronism, mythology and other crap are not interesting any more...Emir Arven 13:34, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Too bad (I can't support you than). I'm sad that you seem to have such a bad opinion on people that surround you, but you fail to see that you yourself are not perfect. For example, you have been accused hundreds of times (twice by me, of which one was a personal attack and of which I am shamed of) for conducting hate speeches and being furious by one's actual existence (or one/two people's factual existence on the globe).
One more thing: why do you always revert to your version? You never propose solutions, but simply revert to your version, leaving it to others to do. This is not so much of a big deal (and I'm not criticizing you) but you always do that (and that is what starts edit wars). Why? --PaxEquilibrium 14:08, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Do you agree that Serbian intellectuals like Kosta Čavoški, who supports war criminals, are not reliable source? Can you tell why Serb intellectuals are so interested in other people nationality, ethnicity, genetics? Emir Arven 14:11, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't care anything about the dirt-bag from Serbian Liberal Party. They exiled them from the Democratic Party already in 1991...
What are you trying to say? --PaxEquilibrium 14:16, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
As you are aware nothing good was produces by them. The strongest party in Serbia now is Serb Radical Party (neo-fascists). Serbs started wars with all other nations, Albanians, Croats, Bosniaks, at the beginning with Slovenia also. And they always do the same thing. Discuss about Bosniaks or Croats who are allegedly Serbs. Discuss about the Balkans as Serb land. Always about the history and land etc. Aren't you tired of all that? I am just saying that Serbia will lose Kosovo because of Serb intellectuals...Emir Arven 14:20, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
1. You totally turned the discussion to another subject and evaded that which I asked you.
2. Your words are terrible, horrifying, and some would call it fascism. --PaxEquilibrium 14:25, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Well we all learned in former Yugoslavia that Chetnics were fascists. Draza Mihailovic was sentenced to death because of his war crimes. So I don't understand what are you trying to say? I hope you don't support Serb Radicals?! Emir Arven 14:27, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
P.S. By the way, the very first shot which was fired in the Yugoslav wars came from a Slovenian Territorial Defense unit on a Yugoslav People's Army soldier from Croatia (since you're "obsessed" [sorry for using this term] by who are Serbs and who are not, he was a Croat). --PaxEquilibrium 14:28, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

It is not about the shot. It is about Serb policy during Yugoslav wars. Real historian should look the whole picture, not just incidents that were excuses for terrible war crimes. Serbian Academy of Science was generator of bad things that happened in the Balkans. According to BBC "Death of Yugoslavia", it was also Serbian Orthodox Church. Milosevic's regime was just product of their acts, as well as Radicals. I have to say that this was also confirmed by some real Serbian intellectuals like Čedo Jovanović, Nataša Kandić, Žarko Korać etc. Even by Serbian premier, Zoran Djindjic who was killed because of his policy against Radicals and similar neo-fascists. Emir Arven 14:40, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

This has nothing to do with Chetniks or the Radicals. This has got to with your words that could be freely translated as "Arghhh, filthy Serbs; kill 'em all!". If I condemned your somewhat xenophobic uncivil posts as "fascist", how on earth do you think I could support that political party (which's ban petition I signed, by the way). --PaxEquilibrium 14:33, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
I naver sad anything about killing anybody, because my cousins were killed by Serb soldiers. So don't push propaganda about me. Emir Arven 14:40, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Emir

It is to my (and a lot of other people's) opinion that you express a bad nationalist sentiment.

About Stephen II Kotromanic's Orthodoxy - I put my key international source(s) later; I did a dishonest thing back then to check one thing. I chose to put a book on the history of Serbs written by one of the best Yugoslavian historians just to see your reaction. Let me remind you of your reactions "Serb nationalist Vadimir Corovic, are you serious that book is just nationalist crap" and some other highly (nationalist) uncivil comments regarding that you don't like that book just because it was written by a Serb. Later if you remember, you yourself called upon that book.
It was not beacuse it was written by a Serb, it was because of the false information so common for Serb nationalists, not all Serbs, just nationalists, as I clearly said.Emir Arven 14:45, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Aha. What false information, could you please point out? --PaxEquilibrium 18:01, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
In other news you just don't yourself, right? :D --PaxEquilibrium 21:41, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
I already said that I'm (slightly) ashamed of that which I did - but I was right in the end - it showed perfectly that which I was afraid of from the very first thing - you hate Serbs. --PaxEquilibrium 14:40, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Please don't insult me. It is considered as personal attack. Remain civil. Emir Arven 14:45, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Outrageous and/or false claims, used directly in bad will are personal attacks. This was not a personal attack. On the other hand, your politicized comments about Serbs could hardly be considered civil. --PaxEquilibrium 18:01, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Those were not just my comments, but also the comments of some Serb politicians and intellectuals. Emir Arven 18:22, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] You too

...like Zarko Korac? I was in the SDU. At least one thing we have in common. :)

About Cedomir Jovanovic... I don't know, I don't like his character. --PaxEquilibrium 14:43, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Why, because I agree with him? Emir Arven 14:46, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
? Don't you agree with Korac also?
No, it's because he's a former criminal; and the only reason why he wants to legalize marijuana in Serbia is because he himself is a (light) drug addict.
Now, you insult Korac. Emir Arven 18:23, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
What does this have to do with Zarko Korac? --PaxEquilibrium 21:39, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

You didn't answer my question about you never proposing solutions. --PaxEquilibrium 17:58, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RFC

In accordance with RFC policy, I must inform you that a request for comment on your Wikipedia behaviour has been started, and you may wish to comment here. Please note that this is an investigation of your behaviour, so bringing up the actions of other editors here will likely not help your case. Besides this, even if you bring up your ridiculous claims against me as "evidence", you still have to answer the serious accusations brought against you, so please don't avoid the discussion. If you still want to bring up your ridiculous claims, don;t do it on the RFC main page, as that page is about your behaviour, but bring it up on the RFC's talk page, as there is already a discussion there about my alleged sockpuppetry. Have a nice day. KingIvan 09:02, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Also, I just noticed that AnonEMouse - the blocking admin of rts freak - does not believe your false claims, so please just stop bringing them up, as they are false and no one believes them. KingIvan 10:46, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] proposed edit to Section 2.4 of the Srebrenica Massacre article

Emir,

I just posted the following on the Srebrenica Massacre discussion page and am now, as a courtesy, posting this on the talk pages of frequent editors of the article. Best Regards, Fairview360 01:44, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Dear editors,

Please visit this version of the Srebrenica Massacre article to see the proposed changes to section 2.4: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Srebrenica_massacre&oldid=117151359

Please visit this site to see the proposed sub-article which the proposed section 2.4 text will be linked to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_executions_in_the_Srebrenica_massacre

If there is no major objection, we would like to introduce this major edit to the article this Sunday March 25. This ought to give each editor the time they need to review the proposed changes before they are fully introduced.

The objective here is to make the article more concise while continuing to clearly state what happened and in no way obscure actual events.

A full review of the proposed changes to section 2.4 and the sub-article will show that all information regarding the executions has been preserved and presented in a clear manner.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Fairview360 01:28, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
