I think this shows what sort of a man Emil Zátopek was: In an incredible show of respect and sportmanship, Emil Zátopek gave another great runner of the time, Ron Clarke of Australia, one of his own Olympic gold medals (he had four) as a gift. Ron Clarke had never won a gold medal of his own and Emil Zátopek thought he deserved it. Ron had visited Emil years later, and had been handed a package not to be opened until he was on the plane. Amazing.

Don't someone have his photo? I've searched other Wikipedias, but haven't found it. -- Obradović Goran (talk 03:42, 22 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] The Zatopeks

There's a punk band called the Zatopeks named after him. They don't have an article on here themselves, so no doubt someone'd consider it not notable, and delete it, so I thought I'd put it here as information in case someone did think it was.

And they're excellent, too... 86.0.230.142 23:17, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
