The Emirates Champions League also known simply as The Champions League is an association football league including teams from Europe, North America and South America as well as three team from Africa and Australia.

The league will feature, in the same way as the Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket league, more than 75 of the world's best players, including Kaká, Ronaldinho, David Beckham, Leo Messi and Robin Van Persie up for bidding in the league with notable exceptions like Cristiano Ronaldo, Smauel Eto'o and Thierry Henry vowing not to play in the league.

16 teams from around the world play 30 games, One home and away, against every other side in the league, then the top 8 teams play knockout two-legged ties to the Final.

Airline giants Fly Emirates signed a 6-year deal to have the naming rights to the tournament and be able to have their Fly Emirates branding on the back of all the teams shorts and on one side of their kits sleeves.

Adidas have also signed a 4-year deal to be official ball and officials sponsors and will have a joint venture with Nike and Reebok to have the clubs wear the branded kits of their company. Vodafone are official mobile partners with Budweiser official beer and Sony products like the PlayStation3 and Sony Vaio being on the advertising boards. Ford, emirateschmapionsleague.com, AIG as well as Samsung are also sponsors.
