Emily Rooney

Emily Rooney is an American TV talk show host and former executive producer of ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings.
Rooney was the first woman to produce a network evening newscast. The acrimonious atmosphere that arose after her 1994 firing by ABC made national headlines.
Before producing for ABC, Rooney was also a news director at Boston's ABC station, WCVB for more than a decade. Rooney had another managing position at the Fox network (before the Fox News Channel started to air). She is currently the host of WGBH's Greater Boston program.
Rooney is the daughter of CBS's Andy Rooney.
