Emily Lascelles

The Hon. Emily Tsering Lascelles, born 23 November 1975[1] or 1976[2] is the eldest child and only daughter of David Henry George Lascelles, Viscount Lascelles, a British film producer who is the eldest son of the 7th Earl of Harewood, a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II. Emily and her brother, Benjamin Lascelles, were born out of wedlock and therefore have no claims to the Harewood titles, nor places in the line of succession to the British throne. Their two younger brothers are legitimate. Though they were born illegitimate, they were later legitimized by their parents' marriage and given the titles befitting children of a Viscount, though not the rank that would come from being born in wedlock. This means that although Emily and Benjamin enjoy the style of the Honourable, they are not entitled to any claims on the Harewood titles.
Like her father, Emily is a film producer, and has worked as production coordinator and assistant production coordinator on several very high-profile films, including Syriana, Alexander, Cold Mountain, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Quills, and all three films in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy. She has also worked as production coordinator on the television series, Man vs. Wild.
At a Privy Council meeting on 12 February 2008, the Queen gave Royal Consent to the marriage between Emily Lascelles and Matthew Shard.[3][4]
